WELCOME!
Let's make something beautiful together
Top of the World Knits patterns are for knitters with plenty of experience but who don't have time to work on complex knitting patterns. I love incorporating interesting structural and uncomplicated stitch patterns into my designs, resulting in impressive one-of-a-kind projects that knitters will be proud to complete.
I'm a member of the Knit Picks Independent Designer Program (IDP), where you'll find several of my patterns, along with self-published patterns, on Ravelry and through my website. I have a lovely slip stitch, colorwork pullover pattern called "Vibrations" in Knit Picks recently launched an eBook collection called Coloring Outside the Lines. My Wavelet Hat was also featured in Making's latest e-zine called BRIGHT Collective late last year.
2023 is an exciting year for Top of the World Knits. I launched my first lacy shawl pattern called "It's Good to be Queen." In August, I'll have a circular yoke, stranded knit cardigan featured in Knit Picks IDP Showcase, and several ongoing collaborations with independent yarn dyers, yarn companies, and magazines for hats, shawls, and sweater designs. Lastly, besides my Tech Editing Services, I'm offering clients Pattern Grading and Ghostwriting Services. I aim to make the design process as easy as possible for knitwear designers.

VIBRATIONS PULLOVER
Vibrations is a classic knit pullover that uses the interplay of contrasting colors to create an optical effect when paired with bold and bright colors against a neutral background. The slip stitch colorwork pattern is easy to remember since you're only working the main color in combination with one contrasting color at a time. The sweater is worked in four separate pieces, each from the bottom up, using fingering weight yarn. Vibrations comes in 9 sizes ranging from 32 to 61" (80 to 152.5 cm) with 2 to 5" of positive ease. The sample pictured below was knit using Knit Picks Palette yarn in majestic, celestial, and macaw colorways on a neutral oyster heather background color. Vibrations was one of five patterns selected to be featured in Knit Picks Coloring Outside the Lines eBook in which 50% of sales of this eBook will be donated to Outside In, a nonprofit organization providing healthcare and social services to marginalized communities in Portland, Oregon.

WAVELET HAT
Wavelet is a classic knit hat with a slip stitch technique and a two-color Latvian Braid. Using the mosaic colorwork technique, the hat is knit in the round from the brim up. This simple technique means the knitter only needs to use one color every two rounds. The hat comes in 3 sizes (Child, Adult Small, and Adult Large). Written and chart instructions will be provided to create the mosaic.
You can find the Wavelet Hat pattern in the September 2022 issue of the BRIGHT Collective, a monthly e-zine subscription created by MAKING Co, the creators of Making Magazine. BRIGHT Collective is the next evolution of MAKING. It's a monthly digital magazine that will arrive in your inbox on the 25th of each month. The emphasis in each issue will be on fiber arts, recipes, meditation, and nature. The Wavelet Hat was the featured knitwear design in the September Issue.

PASS THE HONEY
Pass the Honey is my latest sweater collaboration with Knit Picks. The cardigan was made using their new Brava Tweed colorway called Goldenrod. Pass the Honey is a mid-length, modified drop shoulder cardigan with no waist shaping and faux side seams. The cardigan comes in 9 sizes with 8" (20 cm) of positive ease. The mock honeycomb stitch appears complicated but most definitely is not. The stitch pattern is easy to remember with lots of resting rows and rounds, so you can easily pick it up and put it down without forgetting where you left off.
Best of all, the pattern is FREE! Click on the button below for the FREE pattern.

Knit your way to warmth this fall by making the ManHATtan Magic Hat. The hat is available in adult small and large sizes using DK weight yarn. If you can knit in the round and slip stitches purlwise you will be on your way to creating a unique colorwork hat that's bound to get lots of hat envy from your friends and family.

I DREAM OF BEANIE
The I Dream of Beanie hat is a classic knit hat with an easy-to-remember and fun-to-knit cable repeat pattern. The hat is available in 4 sizes, but can easily be adjusted by adding or subtracting a multiple of 8 stitches from the given number in the pattern instructions. The cables offer this close-fitting hat a festive feel. Using a worsted weight yarn, knitting the I Dream of Beanie hat provides comfort knitting to warm your soul and your head.
